Senior Vice President, Government and International Affairs
A corrections professional with more than 36 years of career experience, Flora Brooks Boyd joined CMCG in October 2009. As Director of CMCG Government and International Affairs, she is responsible for managing the company’s relationship with government and international partners. She collaborates closely with the company's Director of Business Development to develop new partnerships with federal and state government agencies, as well as international entities.
Prior to joining CMCG, Ms. Boyd spent more than 20 years with the South Carolina Department of Corrections where she began her career as a correctional officer and promoted through the ranks to regional director. During her career, she held positions of counselor, deputy warden and warden. She also served as Manager of the Women’s Section of the Greenville County Detention Center for three years. In 1993, she was appointed to serve as a member of the governor’s cabinet as Director of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. Ms. Boyd served as Director for six years. After leaving state government, she served as Director of the Kershaw County Detention Center (Camden, South Carolina) for 7 years.
Ms. Boyd received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from South Carolina State University and did graduate studies at Clemson University. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the highest award in the State of South Carolina the "Order of the Palmetto", the National Association of Blacks in Criminal Justice’s William H. Hastie Award and the SC Governor's Commission on Women “Women of Achievement Award”. In 2007, Ms. Boyd was selected "Jail Administrator of the Year" by the SC Jail Administrators’ Association.
